I grew up raising children. My dad was not in my life as a child and my mom raised 4 children alone. Shortly after my 15th birthday, I gave birth to my first child. My early experience as a mom was difficult because I was a child raising a child and trying to figure out life. I completed high school and started college, but by 19, I was pregnant with my second child and had to drop out. My future seemed uncertain as I worked low-wage jobs and moved from place to place trying to find stability. I received government assistance to relieve some financial struggles, but something on the inside of me wanted and desired more out of life. I realized I wanted more than what my decisions had afforded me at the time.
I remember the day I told my daughter that things wouldn’t always be the way they were. This is when my mindset began to shift, and my life’s trajectory slowly took a turn. My desire and determination to change my circumstances began to arise in me. I no longer wanted to struggle the way I had done so for years.
So much so, that I found myself working in Information Technology. By God’s mercy, I was finally able to sustain my family financially. My decision to do better, gain knowledge, and allow beneficial relationships in my life, paid off. Then God pricked my heart with a vision—to be an advocate for other single moms.
In 2019, out of that vision, Revolutionized, Inc. was created to help single moms gain the freedom they desire emotionally, financially, and relationally. In 2020, I gathered a group of individuals who have the heart to serve and aspire to help single moms live better lives. While I’m no longer a single mom, the conviction to help them remains. At Revolutionized, Inc. we’re connecting single moms with services and resources that help to increase professional and life skills, build financial stability and promote relationship security. We’re helping single moms, one step at a time.
